Four Steps to Chic Halloween Hosting
With #spookyseason in full swing, it’s time to take your Hallween Hosting to the next level. If you know me, you know I live for creating chic spaces that set the tone for any space. A year without hosting holiday parties had me thinking about all of the creativity I could put into entertaining and make it an experience that is both memorable, yet still reflects all of the elements I love about design. With such a fun holiday, why not take it up a notch? Move over, bobbing-for-apples and candy corn (although, you can’t beat the classics!).
T H E T H E M E
Who doesn’t love a good themed party? Make the night that much more memorable and create a theme for your guests to show up in costume for! This year was all about getting witchy with it. All guests attended in their Halloween best, with gorgeous black gowns and glam that embodied a super witchy vibe. Watch out Sanderson Sisters, we’re coming for your brand!
Creating a theme brought us all out of our shell and into the present moment, making the festivities that much more memorable. We loved every minute of it!
T H E D E C O R
It’s all about the decor choices when creating a chic space. To create a witchy vibe with light, refined touches, it’s all about sticking to a color scheme. When brainstorming the event, I thought of three colors: black, white, and gold. Sticking to these, I was able to mix and match each element perfectly together!
From lining the stairway with spooky bats and white pumpkins, to creating the photo wall by mixing in white and gold hues with black balloons. I’m obsessed with the way it all came together!

In between guests mingling with a seasonal cocktail in hand, it’s always great to add an element of unexpected flare to the night. I thought it would be perfect to enjoy my patio refresh with my coven with a night spent watching a few Halloween movies under the stars, breaking for an occasional photo in front of the R.I.P. Backdrop. Creating moments like this last, adding something special and out of the box always leaves you and your guests excited for what’s to come next year!
T H E L O U N G E
Of course I had to save the best for last! A lounge area is an ACI essential for all holiday parties, as you want you and your guests to be able to relax and unwind during all of Halloween fun. As mentioned earlier, it was time for a patio refresh, and I am in love with how it all came to life. I chose to create an intimate space with chic, yet casual palette beds for myself and my guests to lounge and feel at home. Adding the texture of the soft blankets and bold pops of color from the pillows, it made for a cozy space that I can’t wait to enjoy all season long.
